We are always delighted to see our alumni making an impact in the world after taking our programs. Here are three of the latest and greatest:
Congratulations are in order for Hélène V. Gagnon, who was just recognized with a Report on Business Best Executive Award for her outstanding leadership and impact on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Over the past 20 years, Hélène has been involved in more than 50 organizations, including government advisory boards, trade associations, cultural and charity organizations. She has also been on more than 25 boards of directors. Hélène was previously recognized as one of the top 100 most powerful women in Canada by the Women’s Executive Network.
Her education with us has had a significant impact on her career. “Since [gaining] my ESG Competent Boards Designation, I was promoted to Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement, always at CAE,” said Hélène. “I continue to leverage my ESG Competent Boards knowledge on the various boards I have the privilege to sit on, including Hydro-Quebec and the Montreal Airports.”
Elsewhere, Clarissa Lins has started a new position as a Board Member at Vibra Energia. Clarissa is a senior adviser on strategy and sustainability to several major Brazilian companies. Her passion is to find ways to enable companies to transition to a low carbon economy.
Clarissa is the founding partner of Catavento, a consultancy on strategy and sustainability. She also serves on the board of directors for Votorantim Cimentos and is a member of Suzano’s Sustainability Committee. Clarissa’s brings to boardroom tables strong expertise in the fields of strategy, ESG issues, energy and climate change, especially around hard-to-abate sectors.
Finally, join us in congratulating Rosie Bichard for starting a new position as a Non Executive Director and Member of the UK Audit Committee at UBS Asset Management.
Rosie is passionate about business strategy, governance, sustainability and using the power of capital to effect change. She has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, primarily as a global equity investor specializing in the consumer sector worldwide.
Today Rosie holds two non-executive positions as well as serving as a non-profit board member. “I’m delighted to be able to contribute my investment, governance and sustainability experience to the oversight of UBS Asset Management’s UK funds business,” said Rosie. “The Competent Boards program has equipped me to become a better board member by broadening my ESG knowledge, exposing me to global thought leaders as well as discussing challenges with my peers, and providing me with a toolkit with which to question management.”
It is wonderful to see our alumni making a positive impact in their communities and the world. We look forward to sharing more of their stories soon.
