Helle Bank Jorgensen, CEO and Founder of Competent Boards, has been chosen as one of The Globe and Mail’s 50 Changemakers for 2023.

This prestigious Canadian award celebrates emerging business leaders who are transforming the corporate world. Each year, the Report on Business panel at The Globe and Mail selects innovative individuals, based on their ideas, accomplishments and impact.

It was a tough choice, with the panel having to sift through hundreds of strong submissions. Ultimately, they narrowed down to 50 executives, entrepreneurs, activists and academics, all devoted to making the world a better place for everyone. Since its formation five years ago, Competent Boards has provided the best-in-class ESG, climate and biodiversity education to hundreds of alumni in 50 countries around the world. So Helle has deservedly taken her place on this year’s list!

“I am honoured to be chosen by The Globe and Mail for this award, which shows the work we are putting in to help board directors and senior business leaders get better informed about ESG, climate change and biodiversity is making a real impact,” said Helle. “I would also like to thank and acknowledge my incredible team at Competent Boards, whose hard work and dedication has helped bring my vision for leadership to life for our alumni, who are now using that knowledge to make an impact on their companies and the world.”

“As the world grapples with new challenges from greening the economy to adjusting to the new geopolitical reality, the Canadian business community needs new ideas and bold leaders,” says Dawn Calleja, editor of Report on Business magazine. “The Changemakers program aims to highlight 50 people who are taking on pressing issues and turning ideas into impact.”
